NJHS Induction Held
National Junior Honor Society inducted 16 sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students on April 24. New members are considered annually based on scholarship, which looks at the students' academic achievement. Students must submit an application and receive staff recommendations to be considered for induction by a committee of staff members. Once inducted, students are held to Honor Society's four pillars of Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character.
The members took their oath to uphold these pillars and heard encouraging words from Mr. Dierker, all while being watched by friends and family. After the event, they were treated to cookies and lemonade with their guests.
NJHS sponsors several service activities throughout the school year; raising money to help families at both Thanksgiving and Christmas, helping with blood drives, collecting food for local pantries, sponsoring Pennies for Patients for the Lymphoma Society, as well as other events. Mrs. Britton sponsors this group. Congratulations to our newly inducted members who are Tommy D., Peyton D., Emma J., Kylie M., Ashley M., Zach S., Zach R., Wyatt S., Tarah W., Kaleb M., William J., Tyler G., Charlee D., Johnny C., Ben B., and Raina D.
